| Solvent-based inks dry upon evaporation of a solvent and will print directly onto uncoated media. They were developed for the outdoor market where the cost of the substrate is a critical factor and durability is paramount. They require high printhead maintenance due to evaporation in the nozzles. Although they dry fast and have good adhesion, they emit VOCs, which can cause environmental concerns. Also, some of the solvents are toxic. Most applications can use solvent-based inkjet inks, including coding and marking (cans, bottles, etc.), commercial printing, and wide-format printing. Our Solvent Inks have very strong properties: - offer 5-10 years of UV resistance as opposed to the general 2-5 years. - offer a wide gamut for better color quality control - offer solid adhesion properties to enable the printing on various medias - our inks are nano-filtered, meaning they can NOT clog print heads (however please keep in mind that machines are recommended to use a cleaning solution which we also supply) - our pricing range is very affordable since we are the manufacturer - The VOCs are controlled as to make it acceptable for workers in the printshop. Since our inks are OEM quality and are easy to use, you can start using our inks directly into your printer without having to do extensive cleaning- provided you are using OEM quality inks. | Water-based inkjet inks are mainly used in standard and thermal inkjet. There are no volatile organic compounds (VOC) and generally low toxicity, the dry rate is slow on non-absorbent substrates. They require special coated media to optimize drying and dot gain, as well as lamination to achieve water resistance. They were developed originally for desktop systems, but helped pioneer the growth of inkjet in wide-format graphics. Perfect for Giclee printing and painting reproductions on canvas and paper!
